![]() ![]() In 2011, Brenner Children’s Hospital, part of Wake Forest Baptist, became the first Level I pediatric trauma center in the state and is still the only one in the region. It is the only Level I trauma center in the region and one of six in North Carolina. Wake Forest Baptist first received Level I verification in 1982. Our expert triage team assesses each patient. Last year, around 3,400 people were treated at Wake Forest Baptist’s trauma center. As a Level 1 Trauma Center, we provide Myrtle Beach, SC with emergency medical services, including life-saving surgery and substance abuse intervention.
